About

Photography collecting continues to grow in popularity as more and more people embrace the aesthetic appeal and cultural significance of the medium. However, the majority of photographs change hands in private galleries – a system that can be daunting for a first time collector.

The idea behind The Print Room was to create a platform to solve this problem – a curated, simple to use and transparent website on which to learn about and buy fine art photography. In the process we have got rid of many of the things that people find off-putting about traditional gallery websites. We don’t keep images and prices secret until you ask for them (we show you everything where possible), we don’t use over-complicated jargon, and we don't try to shut out the rest of the market.

Instead, at The Print Room you will find a curated range of photography by many of history’s most significant photographers with clear, correct prices. Many we work with directly, but others are represented by other galleries that we respect and with whom we have good relationships. Descriptions are simple and understandable, and you can easily browse through a broad range of genres from across the history of photography.

As the co-founder of Beetles+Huxley gallery in London I have always tried to apply these rules to our day to day operations. However, the confines of a strict exhibition schedule mean that we can only ever exhibit a selected range of photography. The Print Room now gives us the chance to celebrate much more of the medium and to introduce you to it.

You can contact us anytime by phone or email, and of course you can visit Beetles+Huxley gallery in London anytime between 10am and 5:30pm, Monday to Saturday.

If you are already a collector that works with us I hope that you will enjoy the wonderful new things that you can see here, and if you are new to us then welcome, I hope that you enjoy it.
